I'm a little late with my Mix Tape this month, but I'm sure y'all don't mind. It's a bit of a hodgepodge, but contains a few new gems. Although initially underwhelmed (same-y) by the latest offerings from Beach House and Chvrches, I included all their new singles (3 each!).
On further listening, I have to admit that I really enjoy the Chvrches tracks. I can't help but be kind of jealous of Lauren Mayberry though--not only because she looks like a beautiful magical elf, stole my hair, makeup, and clothes, and is dating Justin Long, but mostly because she has these two collaborators to help her AND she gets to be the face of the band.
I'd like to be making really similar music with other people filling in the gaps to achieve the sounds I hear my head. Alas, for now I must painfully fiddle with tedious automation edits and shoddy recording all by myself!
